How Much Hair
The right amount of hair creates the perfect result. Use this guide alongside your client consultation to find the ideal match by type, length, and thickness.
Converting from a different brand or type
Simply match by gram weight. If your client has been happy with 160 grams of 22" tape-in hair, that translates to eight of our 22" hand-tied wefts at 20 grams each. This works when converting to the same length.
If you use the same gram weight but select longer hair, there will be less density — the hair will be longer and thinner. If your client is moving to longer hair, bump up the gram weight to maintain density.
Our wefts are sold individually so you can create perfect color blends without ordering more than you need.
Hand-Tied
10" track · Sold individuallyCreate perfect color blends for each client without ordering more than you need.
Micro Wefts
30"–31" track · Cut anywhereCreate micro-weft sections by cutting the track at any point with no shedding. Most stylists cut 10" wide sections.
Keratin Tips
18" & 22"1 gram per strand · 20 strands per pack. Often used in a hybrid install with hand-tied or micro wefts to fill in thin areas and place hair closer to the hairline.
Full-head K-Tip installs
Seamless Tabs
18" & 22"2.5 grams per piece · 12 pieces per pack · 30 grams per pack. Our ultra-premium invisible tape-ins with the most natural root-mimicking tab available.
Full-head seamless tab installs
Combline & V-Light
Yes, our hair works very well with both Combline & V-Light applications. Since the hair is removed from the attachment track, tip, or tab when using their method, all of our types are compatible.
All of our hair is de-pigmented and colored before it is turned into a weft or tab, so it is all exactly the same.
Our K-Tips are the best way to purchase small amounts of hair that are already sectioned into single-gram strands. Simply cut the tip from the strand as you go and use the loose hair for Combline or V-Light. K-Tips are especially nice because any unused strands can be saved for later use as K-Tips or with another Combline / V-Light install.
Strictly going by price per gram, our Appliqué Tips are the most cost-effective option. Hand-tied wefts are a little more per gram due to the labor involved in creating the hand-tied track.
Frame & Thread is not affiliated with the Combline method.
