How Much Hair
The right amount of hair creates the perfect result. Use this guide alongside your client consultation to find the ideal match by type, length, and thickness.
Converting from a different brand or type
Simply match by gram weight. If your client has been happy with 160 grams of 22″ tape-in hair, that translates to eight of our 22″ hand-tied wefts at 20 grams each. This works when converting to the same length.
If you use the same gram weight but select longer hair, there will be less density — the hair will be longer and thinner. If your client is moving to longer hair, bump up the gram weight to maintain density.
Our wefts are sold individually so you can create perfect color blends without ordering more than you need.
Mind the length gap
Three things decide how much hair to order: her density, the method, and the length gap. The cards below cover density and method. The length gap comes from your consultation: measure where her hair ends today, and where the hair in her inspiration photos ends. That distance changes the order in three ways.
Below her ends, the extensions work alone
Everything past where her own hair stops is extension hair only, so the bigger the gap, the more hair it takes to keep the ends full. Ordering too little for a big gap is the most common reason ends look thin or stringy.
Her ends are where the blend is tested
The line where her hair stops is where color and density have to match. Blunt or heavy ends need more hair to soften into, and a blending cut.
A big gap may mean stages
Her hair should at least reach the occipital bone to hide the attachments. If it barely does, start at a moderate length rather than the longest look in her photos.
Our wefts arrive untrimmed, with their natural ends, so you shape the length to her cut yourself. That’s why each card below also shows a finished length: a 22″ weft’s natural ends reach almost 23″ before you shape them.

18″ & 22″1 gram per strand · 20 strands per pack. Often used in a hybrid install with hand-tied or micro wefts to fill in thin areas and place hair closer to the hairline.
Full-head K-Tip installs
Hybrid installs: 1 pack for fill-in with a hybrid hand-tied or micro weft install. Each 20-pack is equal to or slightly heavier than one hand-tied weft.
